Personal data
The data controller is the Association Sauvegarde du Château de Villemont. Data is collected on this website only at your own initiative:
- Contact form: name, e-mail address, subject and message. This information is forwarded by e-mail to the association so that we can answer you; it is not stored in a database and is kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
- Château letter: e-mail address, used solely to send you the association’s newsletter (about twice a year). Subscriptions are managed with Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris), which hosts the data in the European Union. You may unsubscribe at any time through the link included in every letter or by writing to infos@villemont.net.
No data is passed on or sold to third parties. Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise these rights, write to infos@villemont.net or by post to the association’s registered office. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
Audience measurement and cookies
Website traffic is measured with the open-source software Umami, installed on a server managed by the association (analytics.villemont.com) and located in Canada (OVH, Beauharnois), a country recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection. This basic measurement sets no cookie, does not store your IP address and only produces anonymous statistics (pages visited, referring site, device type, browser, language and country). It meets the conditions under which the CNIL exempts audience measurement from consent. No data is shared with third parties or combined with other data.
Umami also records your journey through the pages anonymously (scrolling, clicks, mouse movements) to help us improve the website; these recordings never include anything you type.
The website also uses, for comparison, the open-source software Matomo, hosted by the association on its own server (stats.villemont.net). Matomo sets audience measurement cookies. IP addresses are anonymised, no data is shared with third parties and the statistics are used only to know which pages are visited.
The website sets no other tracking cookie. One technical cookie, containing no personal data, may be set: villemont_lang remembers your chosen language.
Third-party services
- Map: the map on the Visit page uses OpenFreeMap base maps (data © OpenStreetMap contributors). Displaying the map sends requests to OpenFreeMap’s servers.
- Videos: the videos on the Media page are hosted by YouTube. They load only when you click, via the youtube-nocookie.com domain; on mobile, a click opens the video directly on YouTube. YouTube may then set its own cookies.
- Donations: online donations are collected by La Demeure Historique on its own website (demeure-historique.org), subject to its own privacy policy.
Intellectual property
All texts, photographs, plans and documents published on this website are the property of the Association Sauvegarde du Château de Villemont or of their respective authors. Any reproduction, even partial, requires prior authorisation: infos@villemont.net.
